Inspection precautions before filling gas cylinders(2)

  1. Cylinder Labels: Verify that the cylinder is properly labeled with the correct gas content, pressure rating, and other necessary information. Ensure that the label is legible and not damaged.
  2. Cylinder Color Coding: Familiarize yourself with the color coding of cylinders specific to your industry. Different gases are often identified by specific colors on the cylinder body. Ensure that the color corresponds to the gas to be filled.
  3. Pressure Relief Device: Ensure that the pressure relief device (PRD) is in place and functional. The PRD is a safety feature designed to release gas if the pressure inside the cylinder exceeds safe limits.
